Topics covered today: Doctor Who, Warhammer 40k and all things related to Intellectual Property.

Now using "intellectual" in the same sentence with either of those genres seems a tad bizarre considering they are strictly fiction. Bottom line is they are science-fiction so intellect has to figure in that equation somehow. Right? Well.. yeah.

And beauty. I know. Bear with me. Orks aren't necessarily beautiful; but... on the other hand... there is a startling symmetry (or asymmetry as the case may be) to the way in which they are decorated. 'Er... I mean garbed. Ok. I give up-- Orks will never be beautiful. They are just... well... at least they don't smell a bad as they look.

So- let's look at just what IS beautiful within the genres. I know! How about language! No- I don't mean the trash-talk!

A lot of folks want to know. How is it done. It's all in Photoshop CS3 and is found images enhanced with multiple layers (upto 36 in the piece) and that mean or 3 or more effects on each layer. No, I didn't hand-color the peacock- but, it sure felt like I had.

It took about 3 hours for this particular design- but, I was playing words with friends throughout. Oh. And I chased the dogs around the yard once!

The Words of King Lemuel’s Mother

31 The words of King Lemuel, the utterance which his mother taught him:

² What, my son?
And what, son of my womb?
And what, son of my vows?
³ Do not give your strength to women,
Nor your ways to that which destroys kings.

⁴ It is not for kings, O Lemuel,
It is not for kings to drink wine,

The Virtuous Wife
